Dear Mr Wonderful,
Whatever happened to the supposed sequel movies to Millennium and History of the World, Part I?
Well, mon ami, you see, it's like this: one was a joke and the other is a bad idea.
Not that that would stop the violently yogurt-headed executivistas in Hollywood from creatively strip-mining even those modestly successful films, but since they both deal (at least in part) with time travel, any sequel would take place both "before" and "after" the events of the film, which would therefore violate Causality and we'd have to call in the Time Cops, which means it would then become a Van Damme film - and nobody will green light a Van Damme film nowadays.
On a related note, we here at the Labs gnash our teeth and cry great tears of frustration nightly that the promised sequel, Buckaroo Banzai vs The World Crime League, has never been made. DAMN YOU, HANOI XAN!!
Then someone hands us a drink and a comforting bosom and we go to sleep smiling. So that's all right.
